| Description of Votes on Choice Bills and Amendments |
3. SB 2571 (Sen. Shapiro): Medical Records Privacy Invasion Act:
This bill would have required doctors and judges to report a myriad of personal information of women seeking abortions to the State under threat of criminal penalties.
- The first scored vote was taken to pass the bill out of the Senate State Affairs Committee on 5/11/2009. A pro-choice vote was a "nay" vote against the bill.

4. SB 592 (Sen. Van de Putte) Contraception access for teen mothers:
This Bill would allow 16 and 17 year old teen mothers to consent for their own contraception.
- The 1st scored vote was taken on the bill in the Senate Health and Human Services Committee on 4/7/2009. A Pro-Prevention vote was a yea vote for the bill.
- A 2nd scored vote to consider the bill on the Senate floor was taken on 5/1/2009. A Pro-Prevention vote was a 'yea' vote for suspending the rules to consider the bill
- A 3rd scored vote was taken on the bill on the Senate floor on 5/1/2009. Sen. Patrick offered an amendment that would have gutted the bill requiring parental notification of teen mothers seeking contraception. A Pro-Prevention vote was a 'nay' vote against the adoption of the amendment.
