NARAL Pro-Choice Texas Applauds Austin City Council

Austin City Council Passes Important Ordinance on April 8!
Austin becomes second city in nation to require anti-choice crisis pregnancy centers to post a sign at their entrance disclosing that they do not provide or make referrals for birth control or abortion services

On April 8, Austin City Council members voted unanimously to approve an ordinance that requires anti-choice crisis pregnancy centers (CPCs) to display signs to ensure women visiting an Austin CPC know that they will not receive comprehensive birth control or abortion services or referrals.

NARAL Pro-Choice Texas applauds Mayor Leffingwell and Austin City Council Members for voting unanimously in favor of this ordinance.  Click here to read our press release.

Our sincere thanks go out to the Austin City Council Members and their hard-working staff; and to the many people who registered their support at City Hall, who made calls and emails, who turned up for the meeting, to our coalition partners and speakers; and especially to the National Institute of Reproductive Health, which through a grant, helped to make this possible.
