Reproductive Justice

"Reproductive Justice" refers to the procurement of women’s reproductive rights within the greater context of universal human rights and social justice. The reproductive justice movement strives for the overall well-being of women through the full protection of women’s human rights, and the conditions necessary to realize these rights.

This movement seeks to eliminate reproductive oppression by targeting the social contexts - such as race, class, or age - which prevent women from exercising their reproductive rights. On this page you’ll find information on a number of issues that fall within the realm of reproductive justice including: specific reproductive health challenges faced by women of color; the lack of government funding for abortion care; and the dearth of abortion providers in rural communities.
