Healthy Women, Healthy Families Coalition to Sponsor Free Women’s Health Forum

Forum will bring together community members, health services, advocacy organizations to work on improving Dallas women’s access to health care

DALLAS, TX – On Tuesday, August 25 from 6:30-8pm, the Healthy Women, Healthy Families coalition will hold a free community forum on Texas women’s health at the Center for Community Cooperation at 2900 Live Oak Street in Dallas.

Healthy Women, Healthy Families, made up of over 20 organizations from across the state, has spent the past year collecting surveys and personal stories from women throughout Texas in order to identify their healthcare needs and priorities.  At this event, community members will have the opportunity to get a first look at the current survey results, share healthcare challenges they have faced, connect with local services and advocacy organizations to help them advocate for their health and well-being, and listen to guest speakers, including Chair of the Parkland Hospital Board of Directors, Dr. Lauren McDonald.  Refreshments will be provided.

Coalition members and co-sponsors of this event include Attitudes and Attire, Bridge Breast Network, Genesis Women’s Shelter, NARAL Pro-Choice Texas Foundation, National Coalition of Jewish Women, National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health, North Texas Food Bank, Planned Parenthood of North Texas, Sistas Strategically Mobilizing Around Reproductive Justice Together, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Texas HIPPY, and YWCA of Metropolitan Dallas.
